In light of what has recently happened in Aberdeen relating to Covid-19, we are now told by our government that leaving your details at hospitality venues is mandatory.
This should have been the case anyway.
We are also informed that the work involved to track individuals that have visited affected venues is extensive, and time consuming, not to mention the cost.
Surely this situation clearly adds to the argument for us all to have ID cards. Cards could be similar to our bank cards, that we could “tap” on entry to any venue we visit.
For those who will argue the case, and spout about Big Brother watching, the news is, we are already are being watched, tracked etc.

Bar letdown
Have the local licensing board and Police Scotland let the smaller bar owners down?
It is within both their powers to suspend licenses knowing what was happening in certain establishments.
Bars with less capacity managed their customers, with most customers adhering to guidelines or being asked to leave. Had the authorities done this, perhaps the Scottish Government may not have locked Aberdeen down.

Wrong call
On the Dons game being moved after players tested positive for Covid-19, pretty weird that St Johnstone weren’t awarded the points. Aberdeen players have broken the rules and the club are actually getting away with it as, by the time the game is played, the players will be available for selection again. Baffling decision.
