This week’s Aberdonian takes a look at Grampian Transport.

1987: Grampian Transport's presentation of safe driving awards was made last night at their club-rooms in Canal Road, Aberdeen. Chief Constable Alistair Lynn of Grampian Police (centre right), presents an award to Mr Charlie Alexander. Other award winners look on.
1992: Grampian Transport bus driver Shaun Gray, Bridge of Don, shows off the lucky bus pass tickets you could win if you help Cut The Rush.
1989: Getting a slice of the cake is bus driver Mr Alexander Stuart, Summerhill, at a ceremony to mark the deal. The cake will today be given to Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital.
1991: Still on the buses after many years work are six Grampian Regional Transport employees, who received long service awards from the company. In the front row are (from left) Alex Wilson (bus driver for 35 years), Alex Sutherland (bus driver for 40 years) and Lenny McDonald (electrical engineering supervisor for 40 years). Getting awards for 25 years service are (back row, from left), Kenny Esson (bus driver) Stanley England (bus cleaner), managing director and chairman of the company Moir Lockhead and Gordon Craig (bus driver).
1983: Giving the low down on life behind the scenes "on the buses" is Grampian Regional Transport man Ron Webster. He's a glass fibre operative - and yesterday he was just one of the employees at the King Street HQ in Aberdeen showing visitors the workings of the city's transport network during the first open day since the days of Aberdeen Corporation.

1988: Adding a continental flavour to the launch of the new holiday tours to be provided by Grampian Transport in conjunction with Tayside Transport and Mairs Coaches are Debby Gillespie and Leigh Coats with driver Mr Eddie Arthur.
1982: Grampian Regional Transport First Aid team proudly show off the Braithwaite Trophy they drove off with for gaining the highest individual marks in the National Road Passenger Transport Association (Northern Area) competition which was held at Lothian Region Transport's central garage in Edinburgh. The team who were placed third overall are (left to right) Mr Fred Thouless, Mr Sandy Fleming, Mr David Goymer, Mr John Thomson and Mr Jack Thomson, all Aberdeen.

1991: Ready for a drink are Grampian Transport drivers Alan Killin (left) and Neil Warden, after raising £260 in the Evening Express Half Marathon for cerebal palsy sufferer, Scott Cameron (5), Marchburn Court, Northfield, Aberdeen. Scott's parents Brian and Denise, were at a charity night raised £1,145.99. The cash will buy a walking frame for Scott.
1986: Dons star Alex McLeish and Terry Glossotis welcome passengers for a free trip round town at yesterday's Grampian Transport open day. They also collected donations for the Linn Moor appeal.
1991: Grampian Transport drivers (from left) Ronnie Dow, Charlie Innes and Norman Dalgarno have been presented with safe driving awards by their employer. Ronnie has been driving for 29 years, Charlie for 38 and Norman for 36.
