The band will play in five concerts which will include playing for the mayor of Skjern, where they will be staying, Legoland and Stauning Airport which is holding a vintage aircraft exhibition. In the party are James Anderson, adviser in music, Stewart Watson, conductor, Moira Ross and Eric Kidd (brass instructors) and 36 band members. This is the first time the brass band has played abroad and is the first leg of the exchange with the musicians in Skjern who will be here next summer possibly during the Bon-Accord Festival. This week’s Aberdonian takes a look at the popular Aberdeen Music Centre. The archive images from the 80s and 90s are some of the thousands of youngsters who benefitted from the centre.
