This week’s gallery focuses on the Bridge of Dee area of Aberdeen.

With pictures taken through the decades, we can see how the area’s changed over the last 50 years.

1971: Police were out in force at the Bridge of Dee, Aberdeen, yesterday afternoon when the new traffic lights were in operation for the first time.
1970: The danger point on the Stonehaven road where children cross the road to go to school.
1990: Aberdeen councillors view the Bridge of Dee before backing the plan for a new bridge.
1972: Aberdeen Corporation workmen lay out the paths and flowers at the ground at the side of the Old Bridge of Dee.
1979: Employees of Aberdeen firm Lifting Gear Hire Ltd., Riverside Drive, apprentice fitter Ian Nicol, and engineer Kenny Ross successfully winch a tree from the river at Bridge of Dee, Aberdeen, yesterday. The tree was washed downstream in the winter floods and had been lodged against the bridge for almost four months.
1976: By clearing away trees and undergrown from the south-west end of the Bridge of Dee and laying out a charming small formal garden, the local authority has enhanced an ancient monument which is one of its greatest treasures.
