1981: The Prince and Princess of Wales on the bank of the River Dee near the old Brig o' Dee at Invercauld to record the first official public interview since their marriage three weeks before.
1961: The Holburn Bar was originally housed in the ground floor of the left-hand building, before it moved to its new premises when the old house on the corner of Holburn Street and Fonthill Road was demolished.

1970: Builders raise their glasses to celebrate the topping out of the new Fine Fare store at Aberdeen's Bridge of Dee in 1970. The store was built on the site of the old greyhound stadium and is now a base for Asda.
1954: Looking along the Denburn from Aberdeen's Union Bridge towards the Triple Kirks and HM Theatre in October, 1954. An array of railway signals straddles the then busy railway lines with a siding on the left next to Union Terrace Gardens.
1978: The old and the new merge in this picture from April 1978 at the River Dee downstream of the Victoria Bridge, Torry, as salmon fishers haul in their nets against the background of oil industry supply vessel Oil Prospector.
1963: A large crowd watches the field events at the Aboyne Highland Games in August, 1963, on what would appear to be a cold, wet day judging by the amount of people wearing waterproofs. This year's games are on Saturday, August 2.
1990: Receiving a lovely floral arrangement from four-year-old Siobhan Aboyne - watched by winners from the Aberdeen Allotments and Gardens Society show - is Anne Cocker, who presented trophies at the event.

1988: Chevron HR representative Trish Will presents Fersands and Fountain Urban Aid project's Ian Armstrong with a tent and camping stove, bought with a £150 donation made by the oil company. Looking on are some of the project members.
1987: Aberdeen Family History Society received a 30-foot long family tree from prospective member Robert Gunn, of Merseyside, who had lived in Cruden Bay and Peterhead.
1959: A view from Aberdeen's Union Street looking up St Nicholas Street towards George Street in this busy street scene from 1959.
1971: A dramatic view of Donside Paper Mills, Aberdeen, with the new housing scheme at Hayton/Tillydrone going up in the foreground, with four skyscrapers at Seaton in the distance.

Ian Moir grew up in Powis in Aberdeen in the 1950s.
When this picture was taken in 1961 few streets in Aberdeen could match the quiet secluded Marine Terrace in Ferryhill for its elegance.

The Robert Brothers Circus baby elephants Maureen and Catzelia caused quite a stir with the audience when they attended a showing of the film Tales of Beatrix Potter at Aberdeen's ABC cinema in 1971.
Alex Ferguson's dance across the pitch at Easter Road in 1980 after Aberdeen clinched the title with a 5-0 victory over Hibs will never be forgotten.
Aberdeen's sedate Golden Square alive with dancing as groups participating in the 1981 International Festival of Music and the Performing Arts staged an impromptu show. The latest incarnation of Aberdeen's festival for music and the arts, the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, is in full swing at the moment.

A quiet day in Old Torry believed to be around 1900. The group of men on the right are showing a keen interest in the herring drifters berthed at the quay.

The new dry ski slope at Kaimhill was being laid in 1967, with the greyhound racing track and the Dee Motel in the background.
