After 156 years of service, the Salvation Army has become a well-renowned charity, specifically for their work around the holiday season.

The Salvation Army Aberdeen citadel is at the heart of the city and is committed to meeting the “needs in the community.”

The charity has been sharing its love of Christ and spreading kindness across the city of Aberdeen since the citadel was built in 1896.

From charity auctions to Christmas lunches, we can see the impact the Salvation Army has had on the city and it’s communities in these photos we have collated from our archives.

Do you have any Salvation Army memories? Do you recognise any of the familiar face below? Let us know in the comments.
