Amateur drama groups and youth theatre have been a key part of the arts scene in the Granite City for decades.
The likes of River City star Joyce Falconer and West End actor Jenna Innes made their start in local theatre.

A love of drama, performing and putting together productions has seen the city be home to many different theatre groups over the years from light opera at Pro Arte to the ACE drama club.
Despite constant cuts to arts spending in Aberdeen, there continues to be quality local productions on show every year – with an Aberdeen Youth Music Theatre productions of the Legally Blonde musical set for a short run at the Tivoli Theatre at the end of March.
