Queen’s Cross Church has established itself as one of the most inclusive churches in the country throughout its history.
The kirk is part of the Church of Scotland and has been at the heart of Albyn since the 1870s.
In our gallery below we see how the building looked while it was being renovated and redecorated throughout the 1980s.
In more recent years the church has been outspoken in its support of LGBT rights across the world after becoming the first church in Scotland to appoint a gay minister.
Reverend Scott Rennie left his post last year but has left behind a great legacy in Aberdeen as Queen’s Cross Church became one of the main groups behind the first ever Grampain Pride event.
Members of the church have participated in many creative endeavours including theatre, music and art which can all be seen in the gallery below.
