An Aberdeen councillor will leave the local authority at the upcoming election.
George Street and Harbour Labour member, Jean Morrison MBE, will not be seeking re-election in her ward at the vote in May.
Council leader Jenny Laing said: “Jean Morrison’s contribution to the council and public life cannot be understated.
“She was elected to the council in May 2012 and is the vice convener of the council’s communities, housing and infrastructure committee.
“Jean’s extensive experience of working in the Third Sector in Aberdeen which includes 27 years managing and developing SCARF, a registered charity, tackling fuel poverty and promoting energy efficiency in the nort eas of Scotland has been invaluable to our Administration.
“Jean’s services to energy efficiency in Scotland was quite rightly publicly recognised when she was awarded an MBE from the Queen.
“Jean Morrison is a credit to Aberdeen Labour and I wish her well with her retirement.”
