In a day when the SNP celebrate a decade of power in Scottish politics, Jeremy Corbyn could be forgiven for looking on with envy.

Today, the Labour leader will launch his own party’s manifesto following the leaking of an early draft to newspapers last week.

He is expected to dedicate significant time to challenging the records of the sitting parties in both Holyrood and Westminster but with the General Election just weeks away, Mr Corbyn is far from the only figure making the headlines.

Nicola Sturgeon writes for The P&J: Why Scotland is a better place after 10 years of SNP

Writing exclusively for the Press and Journal, the First Minister outlined why she believes Scots are better of after a decade of the SNP in power.

Ms Sturgeon said the north-east has “benefited from significant investment in local and national infrastructure and public services” and pledged to continue to “work tirelessly to improve the lives” of people across Scotland.

Jeremy Corbyn pledges to “campaign tirelessly” against independence as he launches party manifesto

Jeremy Corbyn will today launch his bid to become Prime Minister as he tells activists he would campaign tirelessly against a second vote on Scottish independence.

The Labour leader will present his party’s “radical and responsible programme of hope” to an assembly of supporters in Bradford later today.

Ruth Davidson: SNP guilty of Orwellian nationalism

Ruth Davison has accused the SNP of pursuing “Orwellian” nationalism as the party marks a decade in power.

The Scottish Conservative leader used a lecture to the George Orwell Foundation to highlight contrasts between patriotism and nationalism, describing the latter as “identity politics”.
