Labour politician Kezia Dugdale has said she is going into the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! jungle to teach young viewers about politics.
In her first social media post to address her decision to star in the ITV reality show, she said: “First and foremost, I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! is a huge UK-wide television programme with an audience into the millions and I think it’s an amazing opportunity to talk to young people who watch this programme about politics and, in particular, Labour values.”
She added: “I have donated my salary for the whole time that I am in Australia to The Rock Trust, and if you don’t know what The Rock Trust is, it’s an organisation in Edinburgh and the Lothians that exists to support young people affected and at risk of homelessness.”
