Former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has refused to say if she is set to quit Holyrood in a matter of weeks.
A spokesman for the former Scottish Labour leader declined to comment on a report in The Sunday Times that she would make an announcement on her departure shortly.
Recently Ms Dugdale has been unable to disguise her frustration with the Labour Party. She was dismayed by her party’s decision to withdraw funding from her successful court battle against the pro-independence blogger Wings Over Scotland.
Jeremy Corbyn’s reluctance to embrace a so-called People’s Vote on the Brexit deal is also understood to have exasperated her.
Ms Dugdale replaced Jim Murphy as Scottish Labour leader in 2015 before unexpectedly resigning in 2017. Around the time of her resignation she caused controversy by taking part in ITV’s “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”.
If she leaves, there will be no requirement for a by-election because she was elected on the Lothians list. She would be replaced by former MSP and Labour minister Sarah Boyack, who is next on the list.
