A further 15 people across the north and north-east have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Today’s update from the Scottish Government shows there have been 43 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country since Saturday – this is 1.1% of newly tested individuals.

A total of 243 people are in hospital with a confirmed case of the virus and three people are in intensive care.

There have been no Covid-19 related deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

Since March 5, 4,196 inpatients who tested positive for the virus have been discharged from hospital.

A regional breakdown of the data shows there have been a further 14 cases recorded in the Grampian area, taking the total to 1,826.

There have been a steady number of new Covid-19 cases in the north-east since an outbreak linked to a number of Aberdeen pubs was detected earlier this month.

It is not known whether today’s cases are linked to the cluster.

The data also revealed there has been one case recorded on Orkney since Saturday. The total is now 16 since the pandemic begun.

There are no new cases in the Highlands, Shetland or the Western Isles.
