The number of cases recorded in the north-east has continued to decline with restrictions on travel and meeting up in other people’s homes now lifted.
People in Aberdeen are now are able to travel more than five miles, and when visiting other households national guidance of three households indoors, and a maximum group size of eight, now apply.
A timetable for the lifting of restrictions on hospitality has been published, with those lifted from Wednesday.
Businesses will be able to open once they have been visited by an environmental health inspector.
Outdoor live events, contact sports, and driving lessons are able to resume today, with face-to-face meetings – such as Citizen Advice Bureau sessions – are now permitted.
Bowling alleys and funfairs in Aberdeen are permitted to open, but they can not sell food and drink until Wednesday.
Casinos in the city must remain closed until Wednesday, with the same rule around a visit from environmental health applying.
Ms Sturgeon thanked health protection teams in the city for helping bring the outbreak under control, and residents in the city for sticking with the restrictions over the last two weeks.
She said: “I want to specifically thank the local health protection teams for the immense amount of work that they have done and continue to do to make sure this outbreak is under control.
“And most of all I want to thank the people of Aberdeen.
“These restrictions have been effective in beating back this outbreak for the simple reason you have all complied very well with them and that’s also the reason we are now able to lift these restrictions.
“I know how difficult this last two and a half weeks must have been for everybody in the city and you have my grateful thanks for that compliance.”
