Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling went head-to-head in a TV debate this evening and instantly Twitter erupted.
Thousands of people took to social media to express their opinion on Scottish independence despite having problems watching the debate online due to problems with STV’s live stream.

Tbh, Salmond is confusing people and I'm still gonna vote yes, but kinda disappointed #ScotDecides

Finally tuned into the #ScotDecides debate, thanks to @Zatoo. @WeAreSTV player worse than useless.

Darling could have avoided that by simply going "of course we could, but I think we're better off in the UK." Just can't say it #scotdecides

Wow. Still amazed that ended up as currency Vs which side to drive on. Who's tackling areas of substance there? #indyref #ScotDecides

Alistair Darling is unable to come up with any detail whatsoever on what new powers Scotland would get in event of #no. #ScotDecides

Hope the quality of debate improves in the next section. Maybe they will learn not to talk over each other as well. #rude #ScotDecides

#ScotDecides no undecided will be swayed from this, not Alex's A game, makes Darling look 'normal'

It is securing my unerring amazement that politicians exist. This debate makes me think neither side really knows anything. #scotdecides

Debate enjoyable, but mainly thanks to twitter banter. Doubt anyone will have decided on the strength of the TV show. #ScotDecides #indyref

Well, I'm still a Yes and I really hope it's a Yes, but not on the strength of *that* #ScotDecides

#ScotDecides Alex Salmond didn't do himself any favours in convincing undecided voters. However, A. Darling provided no positive visions…

Its not up to salmond or darling. Its up to the voters on September 18th #scotdecides #yes
— MarieAnne Smith (@marieannesmith) August 5, 2014
Poor on both sides sadly. Same old political rhetoric, with only Yes providing any kind of positive vision for Scotland. #ScotDecides
