Business was suspended at the Scottish Parliament at 11am today to observe a two minute silence to mark Armistice Day.
MSPs, staff and visitors gathered in the garden lobby to join presiding officer Tricia Marwick who led a commemoration of those who sacrificed their lives.
She was joined on a platform by deputy presiding officers John Scott, Elaine Smith and parliament chief executive Paul Grice.
Bagpiper Stuart McMillan, a West of Scotland MSP, played a rendition of Flowers O’ The Forest and Ms Marwick read John McCrae’s poem In Flanders Fields.
