A new poll has suggested that First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is less trustworthy than David Cameron and Nigel Farage when it comes to paying back money.
A survey titled Edelman’s Trust Barometer showed that only 35% of 1,000 people polled across the UK reckoned the SNP leader would return a £10 loan.
By contrast, 50% of respondents asked the hypothetical question said they thought London mayor Boris Johnson would repay the money and 49% thought Mr Cameron would.
UK Labour leader Ed Miliband’s rating was 48%, Liberal Democrat leader and deputy prime minister Nick Clegg 44% and Ukip leader Mr Farage 40%.
This is the 15th year that the Edelman’s Trust Barometer online survey, conducted between January 12 and 13, has been carried out.
It showed that trust in the SNP fell from 23% in 2014 to 20% while support for the Conservatives dropped from 37% to 36%.
Trust in the Labour Party fell from 41% to 36% and faith in the Liberal Democrats plummeted from 31% to 25%.
Meanwhile, a survey carried out by Survation for a national newspaper revealed that 35.1% of voters would prefer to see a deal between the SNP and Labour after the general election in May.
A Labour/SNP coalition was the most popular post-election outcome in the survey, which questioned 1,006 people between January 12 and 16. It showed that support for the SNP stands at 50% for the Scottish Parliament constituency vote in 2016 with Labour on 26%.
