A Free Church of Scotland minister from Skye is addressing MSPs at Holyrood next week.
The Rev Donnie MacDonald will become the tenth member of the denomination to speak at the weekly Time for Reflection slot on Tuesday.
The Portree-based minister said he considered it a “tremendous privilege” to be asked to take part and was sure it would be a great experience.
“There isn’t much you can say in four minutes but to have the opportunity to present a Christian message for our MSPs to reflect on is something for which I am thankful,” he added.
The minister’s slot, which heralds the start of the parliamentary week, has been arranged by Dave Thompson, MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch.
“It is a great chance for those of religion and those of none to reflect spiritually on the world around us, with those involved going away afterwards feeling enriched by the experience,” said the politician.
The Rev Joe Barnard, the minister of Kiltarlity Free Church in the Highlands, recently addressed MSPs as did the Rev Scott Rennie of Queen’s Cross Church of Scotland in Aberdeen.
