Opposition parties have rounded on the Scottish Government as the storm over a £150,000 payment to the organisers of T in the Park grows.
Both the Conservative’s and Labour have demanded action after culture secretary Fiona Hyslop “raised more questions than she answered” during a grilling by MSPs yesterday.
She faces allegations of “cronyism” over the payment, which she claims was essential to keeping T in the Park running in the future.
Tory culture spokeswoman Liz Smith has now demanded that the first minister steps in to give “straight answers to a “furious” public over the issue, while Labour’s deputy leader has urged Ms Hyslop to make a “full and frank” statement to the whole parliament.
A spokesman for Ms Hyslop said: “The cabinet secretary answered all of the questions put to her by members of the education and culture committee.
“We have also published over 600 pages of correspondence on this issue – as well as setting out the details in a parliamentary answer.”
