Holyrood’s political leaders locked horns in a live television debate tonight.
Our Holyrood correspondent Andrew Liddle has had his say below on how each of the leaders performed?

Nicola Sturgeon
As competent as ever, particularly given she was the only leader on the stand with a substantial record to defend. Failed to land as many killer blows as she would have liked, however.
Kezia Dugdale
Looked impressive when speaking on health and education, while she also handled being branded a “shocking disgrace” by an audience member well. Was let down by struggling to defend specific policy proposals.
Ruth Davidson
Continued to stand as the more mature voice between the main party leaders. Spoke with authority, but struggled to separate herself from more controversial Conservative policies and lurched into the occasional blunder, which could prove costly.
Willie Rennie
Fought hard to get his message across and spoke with a personal touch. Struggled to defend his party’s role in the coalition government.
Patrick Harvie
Struggled on oil and gas, but made a number of entertaining remarks and appeared to win over the audience on several occasions. An outsider who proved himself affective.
