Chancellor Sajid Javid has quit just four weeks out from the Budget, throwing Boris Johnson’s reshuffle into chaos.
The Chancellor resigned from his post this morning after being told by the prime minister to sack all his Treasury advisers, who have clashed with Number 10’s top man Dominic Cummings.
The move comes after Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith was sacked along with housing minister Esther McVey and Business Secretary Andrea Leadsom.
Environment Secretary Theresa Villiers was also sacked this morning and Attorney General Geoffrey Cox was told to go – just minutes before he was due to face MPs questions in the Commons.
