Former First Minister Alex Salmond believes the EU referendum debate lacks the “energy and enthusiasm” that swept through Scotland during the independence referendum.
Mr Salmond was discussing the referendum four weeks before the country goes to the polls and discussed why he believes the UK should vote to remain within the European Union.
If Scotland were to vote in favour of remaining in the EU but the rest of the UK were to vote to leave Mr Salmond suggested “we would have to re-fight the Scottish referendum. One way or another Scotland should retain its place within that European context”.
