Boris Johnson as conceded defeat in the EU referendum – according to a man he met on a Tube train tonight.
Lewis Iwu, director of the Fair Education Alliance, claimed that the Conservative MP told him he had “lost” the battle.
He shared a picture on social media of Mr Johnson on the London Underground as he told his followers that the former London mayor asked how he had voted in the referendum.
Mr Iwu said: “We had a brief conversation in which he said ‘look I think the status quo will prevail but sometimes you have to make the arguments’.
“He asked me if I voted and how I voted. I said I voted to remain and he shrugged his shoulders.”
The meeting reportedly happened at around 9.15pm on the Northern Line
However, Mr Johnson reportedly denied that the MP had conceded defeat, saying that the two had a conversation in which Mr Johnson said “it looked too close to call and could go either way”.
