Gordon Strachan has announced his Scotland squad to face off against England in their crucial World Cup qualifier – but still hasn’t found a place for any of Aberdeen’s League Cup heroes.
The former Dons midfielder has again found no room for stars like Graeme Shinnie, Kenny McLean or newly-fit Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack.
Strachan has faced calls to look again to his old club and tap up some of the talent on offer as Derek McInnes’ men get set for a League Cup Final against Celtic later this month.
His latest squad sees former captain Scott Brown return to the squad and there is also room for Celtic goal-machine Leigh Griffiths, who was last month branded too short by Strachan to hold down a starting role in the Dark Blues side.
Meanwhile, Irish Dons Danny Rogers, Jonny Hayes and Adam Rooney all made the cut for Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland squad earlier today.
