Ross County have signed Danish forward Thomas Mikkelsen on a two-year contract.
Mikkelsen was with Championship side Dundee United for the latter part of last season, scoring eight goals in 27 appearances including the winner in the Tangerines’ 2-1 IRN-BRU Cup final victory against St Mirren in March.
The 27-year-old has previously played in his homeland with Vejle BK, Vejle Kolding, FC Fredericia and Odense, and also had a loan spell in Sweden with IFK Goteborg.
Mikkelsen’s arrival follows the loan signing of Celtic midfielder Jamie Lindsay on Monday, with the forward joining up with his new Staggies team-mates at their pre-season training camp in La Manga ahead of tonight’s friendly against Murcia.
County manager Jim McIntyre, who last month lost leading scorer Liam Boyce in a £500,000 move to English Championship side Burton Albion, said: “He is a very strong, aggressive player who is good in the air and can hold the ball up well.
“With the forwards we already have at the club, Thomas will bring something different to our front line.”
