Caley Thistle were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Livingston at Almondvale.
Inverness were the better side in an uninspiring encounter, but were unable to find a breakthrough, although the result extends their unbeaten run to six matches, without conceding in any.
Inverness manager John Robertson, celebrating his 100th match in charge of the Highlanders, named an unchanged side for the fourth game running.
Livi threatened from the first whistle and threatened in the opening seconds, with Danny Mullen’s knockdown finding Josh Mullin whose low shot was well held by Mark Ridgers, before Craig Halkett sent a bullet header over the bar from a corner.
Inverness had the ball in the net on seven minutes when John Baird’s low drive across goal was turned in by Connor Bell, however he was thwarted by an offside flag.
Inverness’ best chance of the first-half came on 34 minutes however, when Liam Polworth played in Jake Mulraney, but he shot straight at Livi goalkeeper Neil Alexander, while the home side came close five minutes before the break when Jackson Longridge curled an effort inches wide of Ridgers’ goal.
Inverness continued to look the more likely side to find a breakthrough after the break, with Iain Vigurs testing Alexander with a strike from long-range seconds after the interval, before Mulraney’s tempting delivery from the byline evaded everyone.
Polworth stabbed an effort straight at Alexander on 71 minutes, while Livi’s first chance of the second-half came 60 seconds later when Keaghan Jacobs shot straight at Ridgers from the edge of the box.
Inverness had a glorious chance to win full points on 80 minutes when Polworth slid the ball through to Bell, but he was denied by a superb save by Alexander to tip the ball around the post and ensure the points were shared.
