Caley Thistle manager John Robertson regards today’s Championship’s opponents Queen of the South as dark horses for the promotion play-off places.
Inverness have revived their own promotion hopes with a fine run of just one defeat from their last seven league matches, although they remain six points behind today’s opponents who are fifth.
Robertson feels the Doonhamers have been disregarded by many, and he said: “Queens have been under the radar. Nobody has spoken about them at all in terms of promotion or the play-off spots, but they sit one point underneath Dunfermline who are in fourth-place just now.
“They’re a good team and particularly good at home on the artificial pitch. We’ve got to go down in a positive frame of mind and battle it out. A win would take us to within three points of them and that’s what we want to do – keep looking at the teams ahead of us and try to get closer.
“We had a very poor start but we’ve found form, confidence and belief and Tuesday’s 4-0 win against Brechin City will have given the guys a bit of confidence as we scored a few goals and could have scored more.”
Midfielder Iain Vigurs returns from suspension but wingers Aaron Doran and Zak Elbouzedi will not be involved on the artificial pitch at Palmerston, having recently returned from long-term knee injuries.
