Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell says the Staggies have no time to feel sorry for themselves over the Premiership post-split fixtures they have been handed by the SPFL.
County were handed two home games and three away fixtures, including a third trip to McDiarmid Park to face St Johnstone in their final game of the season.
Kettlewell has no complaints over the scheduling, and said: “Even before the fixtures came out we have made it abundantly clear that whatever we get, we get.
“There are pros and cons, and every team in the league will be saying the exact same thing, whether it’s going to play a team three teams at a certain venue or whatever it might be.
“I will be honest – I think it’s completely irrelevant. I think we’ve just got to focus on amassing as many points as we possibly can from the next five games.
“That’s the simple mindset. We can look to try and find excuses, and look to try and find problems, but that’s what we have been given. Nobody is going to protest about it, nobody is going to change what has happened.”
Kettlewell says work has already started to prepare the squad for the survival run-in, with the Staggies one point ahead of Partick Thistle, and he added: “There’s a lot of logistics that need ironed out in terms of an early Saturday game against Hamilton, and a Friday night game at Partick.
“We need to make sure we are preparing the players as best we possibly can. It’s something we pride ourselves on doing.
“As soon as the fixtures were confirmed to us, we were straight on to that.
“We make sure there is no stone left unturned for any of these games. That’s the way we will continue to go about our business.”
Greg Tansey, Craig Curran and Ryan Dow were among the Staggies’ first team players that featured in a 4-2 victory for the Development League side at home to St Mirren yesterday.
