Peterhead duo Willie Gibson and Rory McAllister have been nominated for the League 2 player of the year award.
Gibson and McAllister have been integral in pushing the Blue Toon into title contention, with McAllister the club’s leading scorer with 20 goals.
They will go up against Stirling Albion’s Darren Smith and Montrose defender Sean Dillon for the award, which will be decided at PFA Scotland’s annual awards dinner in Glasgow on April 29.
McAllister recently signed a new contract at Balmoor until 2021, which will take him to a decade with Peterhead. The former Caley Thistle and Dundee United striker knocked back the chance to join Dundee United in 2016 to continue playing part-time for Jim McInally’s side.
Ex-Kilmarnock, Queen of the South and Stranraer man Gibson has travelled from Dumfries to be part of the Blue Toon squad this season. The 33-year-old has played 43 times for Peterhead since joining last summer.
With two games to go in League 2, Peterhead are three points behind leaders Montrose. They travel to Borough Briggs to play Elgin City on Saturday before playing Edinburgh City at home on the final day.
Montrose visit Stenhousemuir on Saturday before finishing at home to Elgin.
