Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson says the Staggies are determined to land their first blow on Caley Thistle in today’s Highland derby at Victoria Park.
The two sides have cancelled each other out in the both Championship meetings so far this term, with a goalless stalemate at Dingwall in September followed by a 2-2 draw at Caledonian Stadium in November.
Ferguson feels County, who are a point clear at the top of the league, have fallen short of their standards on both occasions and insists his side is eager to put that right in front of what is expected to be a capacity 6,500 crowd.
Ferguson said: “We probably feel a little bit underwhelmed in our own performances in the derbies, as a group.
“No disrespect to anybody else but we feel we’ve probably not reached the levels we’ve reached in other games.
“That may be credit to Inverness in that they’ve not allowed us to reach those levels, but I think the players do feel there’s not really been a glove laid yet. It is an opportunity to do that.”
