Elgin City forward Shane Sutherland returns for second spell at Peterhead
ByJamie Durent
Peterhead have completed the signing of Shane Sutherland from Elgin City.
A pre-contract had been agreed with Sutherland to return to Balmoor on an 18-month deal at the end of the season.
But Elgin have accepted an offer to allow Sutherland to return to Peterhead straightaway and the 28-year-old is expected to be in the Blue Toon squad to face Cowdenbeath this weekend.
Sutherland knocked back a move to Stirling Albion in the summer, with the Blue Toon and Cove Rangers also interested in signing him.
The former Caley Thistle striker has been one of the SPFL’s most prolific strikers, netting 70 league goals times since first joining Elgin in 2013.
His previous spell at Peterhead under Jim McInally was in 2015-16, in which he scored 13 times in 35 games.
