Ross County defender Callum Semple has been hit with an immediate two-game suspension after being found guilty of breaching Scottish FA gambling rules, with a further six matches suspended.
Englishman Semple, who joined County in January from Sheffield United following a loan spell with Queen of the South earlier this season, was last month cited with a notice of complaint and attended his SFA hearing last Thursday.
The 20-year-old was found guilty of breaching disciplinary rule 31, for bets placed between July 1 2018 and March 1 2019.
Semple will now miss the Staggies’ Championship matches against Ayr United and Queens, with a further six matches suspended until the end of next season.
