Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes wants his summer signings in place for the start of the Europa League campaign on June 30.
The Aberdeen players will return for pre-season training in the middle of June before the draw for the Europa League first qualifying round is made in Nyon, Switzerland on June 20.
McInnes who already has 14 players under contract for next season, hopes to give his new recruits time to settle before a concerted push for a place in the group stages of the Europa League.
The transfer window closes on August 31 and McInnes said: “We have always tried to do things early and get ahead of the game, I want to make sure we are not scrambling about trying to get people in before the deadline.
“I would want the squad to be more or less as we want it before the first European game takes place.
“The fact we have a lot of stability at the club and a lot of players under contract helps.
“We need to make some good decisions on our recruitment and it is important that we don’t rush that.
“If we think they are the right player then we will try to get the business done as early as we can.
“If one or two have to be dragged out in order to get the right people to the club then that is also something we may have to do as we are building a squad for the season, not just the early European games.”
Goalkeeper is a priority for McInnes with Scott Brown and on-loan Rotherham United stopper Adam Collin both free agents at the end of the season when their contracts expire.
Danny Rogers, who signed a new deal to remain at Pittodrie until 2018 in March, has impressed while on loan at Championship club Falkirk this season.
McInnes has made no secret of his desire to bring another goalkeeper to the club and the Dons have been linked with a move for Hamilton goalkeeper Michael McGovern, who is approaching the end of his contract.
However, Aberdeen’s hopes of getting Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward back to Pittodrie for a second spell appear a non-starter as the 22-year-old is expected to spend next season on loan at Huddersfield Town, who are currently 19th in the Championship.
Ward kept 12 clean sheets in 29 appearances for the Dons before his loan spell was cut short by Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp in January.
