Superleague champions Culter face Maud at Colony Park, Inverurie, tomorrow in the final of the McBookie.Com McLeman Cup (2.0).
Culter manager Andy Gibson is looking to end the season on a high with two more pieces of silverware for the Crombie Park cabinet, with the North Regional Cup final to come next weekend against Banks o’ Dee at Ian Mair Park in Dyce.
Gibson said: “It was great to finally receive the league trophy after our 3-1 win against Dyce on Tuesday night, getting to two cup finals has really rounded off the whole season.
“We won the league by 15 points and reached the third round of the Scottish Cup and only lost to Berwick Rangers after a replay.
“The players have shown great character throughout, as we also got to the League Cup final, although we lost out on that one on penalties to Banks o’ Dee.
“It has been a long, hard season but the players looked pretty fresh against Dyce on Tuesday and we still have two cup finals to go.”
Gibson is happy to accept the favourites’ tag and added: “The one thing we won’t do is underestimate Maud. The players will be warned they are a good side who have a couple of players who could quite easily step up into the Highland League.
“We will be well prepared and if we can keep up the same tempo we have been playing to in the last couple of weeks we can be confident.
“Our defence has been looking good and with George McBain and Jamie McAllister up front we pose a threat to any team.”
