Defender Shay Logan says the Dons are determined to make it a week to savour for the Aberdeen support.
Derek McInnes’ side take on closest rivals Dundee at Dens Park tomorrow before facing St Johnstone at Pittodrie in the quarter-finals of the Betfred Cup on Thursday.
Under-pressure Mark Warburton takes his Rangers side to Aberdeen three days later in another hotly-anticipated encounter.
It has been a disappointing start to the season for the Reds but Logan knows his side could make it a highly memorable week with three successive wins over the coming days.
He said: “It is an exciting time to be an Aberdeen supporter.
“Everyone is looking to the test ahead, three games in seven days.
“The lads love to play games and it should be a big week for us. The bigger the better.
“Some games are bigger than others but Sunday is a good chance to get our season up and running.
“We will look to get the points on the board so we can go into the Thursday game against St Johnstone at home in very good form.
“We haven’t lost at home for a while and it would be good to get into that semi-final and then the one everyone has been waiting for Rangers – let’s be having them!
“Dundee is the main priority then we can concentrate on those other games after.”
The Dons are sitting seventh in the table with only one win from their opening five matches – but Logan remains upbeat about his side’s prospects for the forthcoming campaign.
He said: “We played Hearts here and we played them off the park and should have won but we drew 0-0.
“They have gone and taken points elsewhere whereas we have played Celtic and lost and drew with Inverness.
“It is a long season, we are only five games down and have 33 to go.
“The table counts at the end of the season rather than halfway through.
“It was a really good start last season with eight wins in a row but this season hasn’t been the worst.
“Everyone is making the comparison because we haven’t picked up as many points as last season, which is tough.
“We have only lost one game but we haven’t had as many wins as we would have hoped.
“One or two wins more then people would be viewing things differently.
“We know it isn’t a bad start but it could have been better and we need to improve a few things.
“If we can score a few goals and I am sure we will get it right on Sunday.”
