Caley Thistle may have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in recent weeks, but manager Richie Foran reckons the best has yet to come.
Foran had a tricky start to his managerial career after replacing John Hughes at Caledonian Stadium in the summer, losing his opening three league games against Partick Thistle, Ross County and Hearts.
The task did not look any easier for the Irishman with games against St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Celtic, however Caley Jags managed to take points from all three fixtures, with their 2-1 victory against Saints followed by draws against last season’s top two.
Foran feels his side is improving with every week, and with games against Dundee and Hamilton Accies to come before next month’s international break he is hopeful Caley Jags can continue to improve standards.
Foran said: “There’s lots more to come from us in terms of quality. The desire, hunger and attitude is there, and the quality is at times too, but we’re going to peak.
“We’re going to hit high standards in one of these games and we’re going to punish a team. We just need to keep believing.
“Every performance is getting better so I’m delighted. We’ve got a fantastic squad now, we’ve got players who can come off the bench and change games for us. It’s a great squad effort.”
Foran has assured supporters he will always set his team out to earn full points at home, with Caley Thistle looking for just their second league victory of the campaign when Paul Hartley’s Dark Blues make the trip north on Saturday.
Foran added: “We set out to attack against Celtic last week and that’s what we’re looking for in every home game. We weren’t going to sit in, we need to try to get three points in every home game.
“That’s the way we set our style. We can improve again on Sunday’s performance, and hopefully if we do the three points will come.”
