This is the moment German football fans belted out a very special version of Runrig’s Loch Lomond in their own stunning pre-match ritual.
Bundesliga side FC Köln have adopted the Scottish ceilidh classic and now perform their own version to the famous tune before every home game at the Rhein Energie Stadion.
The choice, featuring this weekend in a clash between the Cologne club and RB Leipzig, may not be too surprising for fans of Bundesliga teams, as Donnie Munro’s Runrig are still extremely popular in Germany.
However, Loch Lomond was not the only Scottish flavour in the clash, as newly-capped Scots wonderkid Oliver Burke turned out for Leipzig,
The young winger is tipped for big things in Germany’s top league and the fiery Scottish-inspired welcome may well have played some small (and very unintentional) part in inspiring him to his first goal for his new club.
