Rangers are on the look out for an “outstanding” midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window and may have settled on a former Livepool star.
Porto midfielder Joao Teixeira could be brought in to fold at Ibrox as boss Mark Warburton aims to improve his team’s fortunes in the Scottish Premiership.
Warburton revealed he had been looking on a player currently plying his trade abroad but remained tight-lipped on the players identity.
However, according to the Daily Mail, former Liverpool and current Porto midfielder Teixeira is that player.
The newspaper reports Warburton could look at a loan deal for the 23-year-old when the transfer window opens in January.
Warburton has now entered a defining month featuring games against Aberdeen, Hearts again and Celtic and could be more determined than ever to get his man if the festive fixtures do not go his way.
