Ross County manager Jim McIntyre is urging his Staggies to start converting draws into victories in an attempt to break into the Premiership top six.
The Staggies have drawn seven of their last 12 matches, which is already one more than they accumulated throughout last season.
Two of those results have come in the last fortnight, with County squandering winning positions to draw against Hamilton Accies and Hearts at Victoria Park.
With just two points separating the Dingwall men from bottom-placed Highland rivals Caley Thistle in the Premiership, McIntyre wants no more missed opportunities as his players aim to climb the table in their next five games prior to January’s winter break.
County travel to Dundee today and McIntyre said: “We’ve drawn too many games and that’s why we’re still in and around the pack.
“It’s a difficult league and the teams are evenly-matched. It’s difficult to win games at this level but we know we should have picked up more points than we have done.
“We have a bit of consistency but we want to turn more of the draws into wins which will see us catapult up the table.
“Momentum is an important thing in this league. It’s been very difficult to achieve this season as all the teams keep beating each other and getting results against each other.
“That’s why there’s two points between the bottom team and sixth place.
“From that side of things we’re really pleased we managed to go four matches unbeaten, which sets it up nicely for going to Dundee this weekend. Dundee will be desperate to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at Kilmarnock.”
County recently went 10 games without a victory but McIntyre feels the effects of his side’s recent upturn in form is showing in performances.
McIntyre, who could have captain Paul Quinn and midfielder Martin Woods back in contention following respective hamstring and back injuries, added: “There’s a bit more spring in the step, positive results and performances do that and it’s a good thing.
“We found ourselves 2-1 down against Hearts but I think the confidence of recent performances meant the boys kept going and doing what they were doing and created more opportunities.”
