Former Rangers boss Mark Warburton could be set to scupper Brendan Rodgers’ stunning bid to convince Emerson Hyndman to swap Ibrox for the Hoops.
The Celtic boss had been linked with a move for Hyndman when his current loan deal at Rangers expires in the summer.
However Warburton, who now manages Championship side Nottingham Forest, is reportedly keen to link up with the American youngster again.
It’s unclear if new Gers manager Pedro Caixinha will seek to keep the Dallas-born starlet for next term but he remains a favourite with supporters.
Hyndman has already scored four goals in 12 games for Rangers and could yet be a key figure as the team chase Aberdeen for second place in the Scottish Premiership.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe reportedly has a good relationship with both Warburton and Rodgers and will be keeping a close eye on his young star’s development.
