Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has dismissed speculation suggesting captain Ryan Jack is set to join Rangers on a pre-contract agreement.
The midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was linked with a move to Ibrox by a national newspaper.
But McInnes, whose side face St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park tomorrow, if Jack moves on in the summer a club in England will be the most likely destination.
He said: “It has been brought to my attention.
“I spoke to Ryan as I normally do on a training day.
“He gave me assurances that there has been no contact and he doesn’t anticipate contact.
“It is not something he is interested in.
“Ryan is happy here and he hasn’t ruled out staying here.
“We hope he will be here but if he does decide to move on his likely destination will be England.”
Jack has scored two goals in 33 appearances for the Dons this season.
