Celtic are set to be dealt a blow if rumours linking them with a young Rangers starlet are correct.
US ace Emerson Hyndman has impressed during a loan spell with the Ibrox club but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has ruled out any chance of him staying in Scotland this summer.
Calling the youngster an “outstanding” talent, he told the Daily Echo: “You don’t invest in young players to then move them on very quickly. That defeats the object of our model.
“We look to bring in young and talented players and develop them and make them better. That is a long-term process.
“We are delighted with the progress. It’s great to see Emerson doing so well on loan with Rangers.”
Brendan Rodgers is understood to have made enquiries about the youngster’s availability following an impressive season north of the border.
Hyndman has been named Rangers’ Young Player of the Year for 2017.
