Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed he once attempted to sign Rangers star Graham Dorrans.
The Hoops gaffer admitted he was a fan of the Scot and even tried and convince him to sign on at Swansea during Rodger’s tenure in South Wales.
Dorrans joined West Bromwich Albion from Livingston and spent seven years at the Midlands but Rodgers said: “He was a player I wanted to bring to Swansea at the time, and he is a very good footballer.
“Graham Dorrans is a player I have always liked. In fairness to Pedro [Caixinha], he has come in and had to assess the group and have a look at it.
“He has virtually overhauled the whole squad really. It’s virtually a new team. They are playing in a 4-4-2 structure, and they have good players.”
Speaking to Celtic View ahead of this weekend’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox, he added: “Celtic-Rangers games are always going to be tough games but our aim is always to find a way.”
