A Crusaders supporter has died while watching his side’s IRN-BRU Cup match against Highland League side Cove Rangers. The man, believed to be in his 70s, had travelled from Northern Ireland to watch his team take on Cove at Forfar Athletic’s Station Park. The match was halted midway through the first half as medical teams treated the supporter. Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter said everyone associated with the club was deeply saddened by the incident. He said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the man’s family after this tragic event.” Crusaders won the match 3-0 thanks to goals from Michael Carvill, Jamie Glackin and Declan Caddell.
