Aberdeen have reportedly rejected an offer from Aston Villa to take Scott McKenna on loan, with an option to buy the defender for £7million in January.
According to the Sun, the English Championship side were turned away in the last 24 hours in their attempts to bring McKenna to Villa Park.
Scottish champions Celtic have already had a £3.5million bid for the 21-year-old turned down during this transfer window, while Swansea City and Hull City have also been interested in securing his services.
Dons boss Derek McInnes is determined to hang on to McKenna, who is under contract until 2023 at Pittodrie. He is currently sidelined until after the international break with a hamstring injury.
McInnes has previously said that the Scotland international will bypass the Championship and head straight to the Premier League when he leaves the Dons.
