Aberdeen have failed in their bid to overturn the red card shown to defender Michael Devlin in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Kilmarnock.
The former Hamilton Accies player was sent off by referee Craig Thomson after four minutes for denying Killie forward Eamonn Brophy a goalscoring opportunity.
A statement released by the Dons read: “The club has this morning received confirmation it has been unsuccessful with the appeal for the red card shown to Michael Devlin last weekend.
“We are extremely disappointed with this outcome, which will now mean Michael misses our important league match against St Johnstone after the international break.
“The club will be making no further comment.”
