Elgin City manager Gavin Price says the Black and Whites must show their gritty side in order to return to winning ways against Clyde at Borough Briggs today.
The Black and Whites have been riddled with inconsistency in recent weeks having seen their last five league victories followed by defeats – the latest being last weekend’s 4-2 home loss against Berwick Rangers.
City have another opportunity to triumph at home when they face the Bully Wee this afternoon, and Price says his players must show the bravery to match their fluent football.
He said: “Putting two wins together is so important to get us up a level in the league. We have just got to dust ourselves down and get going again.
“We need to get more consistency into our game. Our defending needs to be a bit braver, and we need to do the dirty side of the game.
“It’s one thing playing nice football but there are two ways to win games. We need to do both sides of the game.”
City were defeated 4-1 when they last faced Clyde in Cumbernauld in September, however the Moray outfit can draw level with Danny Lennon’s third-placed side with a victory.
Price, who has no fresh injury concerns, hopes to make home comforts count, adding: “It will be a really tough game and we have to be at our best.
“We were quite well beaten when we played them at Broadwood, they are a strong side and it’s always difficult going down there.
“Hopefully home advantage can make this a different game for us and help us to get the points.”
