Sam Cosgrove netted for the second time this week to give Aberdeen a 2-1 win over St Mirren.
Cosgrove’s header on the hour put the Dons in front for the second time and it was a lead they would hold on to in a rain-lashed Paisley.
Stevie May had earlier put the visitors ahead from the spot before Cammy Macpherson’s equaliser.
Victory takes the Dons up to fourth and back into the top six, after slipping out of it following Livingston’s 5-0 win over Hearts on Friday night.
The Dons made one change from the 3-2 win over Livingston during the week, with Connor McLennan handed a start in place of Scott Wright after his impressive second half on Tuesday night.
In goal for St Mirren was Dean Lyness, who was on trial at Aberdeen over the summer, and he started with on-loan goalkeeper Danny Rogers ineligible to face his parent club.
Played in torrential wintry conditions in Paisley, Aberdeen had the first clear opportunity of the game. Neat interplay between Niall McGinn and May gave Sam Cosgrove room to run at goal, however he dragged his shot wide.
Attacking intent was thin on the ground until the half-hour mark. Lyness reacted well to tip over McGinn’s free-kick and from the resulting corner, Andy Considine was hauled down by Alfie Jones. In the absence of regular taker Gary Mackay-Steven, May stepped up to send Lyness the wrong way from the spot.
Saints were level on 35 minutes as Adam Hammill’s clever free-kick caught out the Aberdeen defence and found Macpherson unmarked, with the midfielder sliding home. Goalkeeper Joe Lewis was less than pleased, marching out of his goal to berate the lack of marking.
May should have added to his tally eight minutes into the second half after Cosgrove played him through but he hit his one-on-one straight at Lyness.
His strike partner showed no such nerves on the hour, though, powering home the rebound after Lyness had superbly tipped Considine’s header on to the bar.
Cosgrove was coming into the game more and more and his clever chest down teed up McLennan, whose snap-shot went wide.
The hosts lacked any real further threat on Lewis’ goal, as the Dons held out for another three points ahead of Tuesday’s game against Dundee.
