Aberdeen have rejected a bid from Championship side Stoke City for defender Scott McKenna.
A report in the Daily Mail said Potters boss Nathan Jones had made a £5 million bid for the Scotland international.
However it is understood the bid was made 10 days ago and was swiftly rejected by the Dons, who are determined to hold on to McKenna.
Aston Villa had a £6.5 million bid for the 22-year-old turned down on deadline day in August, while Celtic and Hull City have previously been linked with the central defender.
McKenna missed last night’s 4-1 Scottish Cup victory over Stenhousemuir after suffering a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock.
