Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor will serve a two-game ban after losing his appeal against the suspension given by the Scottish Football Association.
The 36 year-old reportedly attended his hearing in person this morning but has been unsuccessful in reversing the punishment offered by compliance officer Clare Whyte.
McGregor was cited for his studs-high challenge on Lewis Ferguson in his side’s 4-2 win at Aberdeen last week.
Having lost his appeal McGregor will sit-out his side’s meeting with St Johnstone in the league on Saturday as well as next week’s Scottish Cup fifth round replay against Kilmarnock.
